Canwick Park Golf Club

Captain’s Welcome

Men’s Captain 2012-2013: Andy Herbert

Hello, I would like to welcome members and visitors to Canwick Park golf club, which is situated in the heart of the city of Lincoln.

Our course offers a demanding but fair test of golf for all abilities, and the views of the cathedral and the city are superb. We pride ourselves of being a friendly club, and you can be assured of a warm welcome at all times.

After you have enjoyed our course, why not visit our clubhouse, which  offers first-class catering, and a great selection of beverages to quench every golfers thirst.

We have a state of the art swing studio on site, with video cameras, launch monitor and golf simulator. This can be used for a round of golf on many of the worlds’ leading courses, or as a first class teaching aid. Hopefully this will result in a few shots off my handicap!

I’m looking forward to a great golfing year in 2012

Lady Captain 2012-2013: Val McCracken

I’m Val McCracken and am proud to be the Lady Captain of Canwick Park Golf Club for 2012.  Canwick Park is a beautiful parkland course with stunning views of Lincoln Cathedral and I have played here for 16 years on a super course with very friendly, welcoming members.

We are a relatively small section, with only around 43 lady members. However many of us play in competitions regularly and also meet for a social game on a Tuesday morning.

The Ladies competition day is Thursday and some competitions have Saturday as an alternate day.  We have a very full fixture calendar with Medal, Stableford and Par competitions as well as an Open competition.  There are also a number of mixed Club and Open competitions which are very well supported.  Matches feature in our fixtures too with a number of Ladies friendly and Mixed friendly matches, together with a ladies league team.  There is also the opportunity to play in both Ladies and Mixed Knockout competitions.

Throughout the year the ladies are very active with various fundraising events and usually manage, with the fantastic support of club members, to raise several thousand pounds for a variety of causes.
